Hi Tambu, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I’ve been well and blessed. I feel very honoured told what I do, the way my team and I are doing it. I’m very grateful and happy.

In what way did your days as an X Factor contest help you grow and shape you as an artist?

As many of you may know, I am the founder of the record label I’m signed to and because of that I’m also what people call ‘an music industry professional’. The Xfactor factor really enlightened that side of me. It made me realise that an entire game lies behind entertainment and that I had to know how to play before starting the game.

Such shows are entertainment. They are here to amuse people at home and cater to the bordem a nation may have and lead then to tune in TV, at first. Then you have the singing. At that point, it was about learning the production and entertainment business values that particular show had.

I know I can sing. I’ve seen many brilliant vocalists being told to go home. However, I wasn’t aware of the business side and production so I took that part in and I went home to be create what lead to me talking to you today.

It didn’t make me. But it did awaken the music business side of me. Definitely.

Can you talk to us more about the story behind your latest single “Preach”?

Preach is about having that last tender moment with someone and telling them that they want it to give them chills. They want to remember it. They want magic out of it.

They both know it’s a goodbye moment so they want to express that moment properly

Can you talk to us more about the recording process?

Sure.

Recording to me is about chemistry. If you don’t get along with the people in the studio you will get distracted. If you don’t like the location it will also play in your mind. So, you need to have a great team. Whatever is good for you gotta be the way or it won’t work.

For Preach, I loved everything about it. It was my first single. It was my first official sound all these years back so I was proud. People loved it’s simplicity. They love that I just flow and not over sing even though I could. So I’m please that it’s return to the public is being successful.

K your life when you were writing the song?

I talk about everything around me when I write. It can be about my life or a person I may be close to. I also write about the things I read about or imaginary situation that I wonder what if it happened to me? How would I react?

Many factors and elements are implimented in my lyrics or compositions. That’s how I get creative.

I understand the song is part of your upcoming debut album – how’s that coming along?

I’m so excited for so many reasons!! It’s doing great and I feel so blessed. I have 21songs so far I’ve thought of having a volume 1 & 2!!

I’ll release a few singles and videos and take it from there.

Any official release date, title in mind?

The follow up single is coming out in December. We’ve already shot the music video. As for the album, the excitement is taking over I keep changing everything!! Ha! That’s the power of independence.

I feel very blessed and I’ll make sure to let you know more.

Will you be hitting the road this year?

Yes, I’m starting show in London on Thursday November 20th. Footage will be available online. I’m still looking to add more dates to those we already have but yes. I am starting to lay down these vocals live.

What else is happening next in Tambu-christel´s world?

Blessings. I’m very grateful. I have Three beautiful daughters growing up with values and manners. I have a healthy life style. I am professionally in a stable place yet growing everyday to get to where I’d love to get to (which is to receive a Grammy someday).

I am very grateful and thankful. Thank you so much for having me, Vents.

Sincerely.
